These lilies spoke loudly when they bloomed. Pink magenta orange white cream. And they stood against this white wall, boldy. The greens quite distinct. Almost like ladders between the mulchy soil and the flowers in their radiance. In this image, two flowers take the stage but emerging ones make their ways, and of course several more are out of frame but alluded to in hazy outlines. Lilies are special, especially so when you watch them as they grow from ground to as high as they can reach. In this piece I particularly liked painting the background with its range of subtle colors, something less immediate to see than the flowers.
With my best,
Jack
